About.

Who. What. Where. When. Why.
I'm a award-winning writer, editor and photographer based in England's West Country. My work follows my interests: the stories I create and curate are usually about active travel, wildlife and conservation, or history and heritage. I also get a kick from sharing the insights of inspiring people I've interviewed, from pioneering scientists, park rangers and environmental champions to authors, musicians, sportspeople and photographers.

Over more than two decades in publishing, I've held full-time positions with Lonely Planet, Wanderlust and BBC Wildlife Magazine. Now freelance, I write features and profiles, provide editing services and create engaging content for a diverse range of outlets, working with commercial and not-for-profit clients.

My work appears in The Telegraph, The Times, The Independent, The i, Evening Standard and Metro, specialist magazines such as BBC Wildlife, Wanderlust, National Geographic Traveller and BBC World Histories, and books for Lonely Planet and DK. I also write for online outlets including BBC.com, Horizon Guides and World Nomads, and for organisations including WWF, the Natural History Museum, RSPB, English Heritage,
London Wildlife Trust, WWT and Crossness Engines Trust.

I'm probably out on the trails.
